Michigan's #1 Outdoor Movie Night Provider - Established 2008

Planning Your Outdoor movie night t Event

Be a good neighbor!

STR employs a professional sound system and light projection show. Outdoor movies and games are great entertainment, but they can be very loud as well. Make sure you inform your neighbors regarding your plans to have a movie and game night. If possible, we always encourage you to invite them over

Anchoring the screen

STR screens are rated to a maximum wind velocity of 15 mph while anchored to grass surfaces. Movie events requiring screen set-up on asphalt or cement will be subject to additional charge for the filling of water containers on-site. This option requires access to a water source within 100 feet of screen location. Water container anchoring is not recommended for sustained winds in excess of 10-12 mph. Set-up on dirt or sand is not permitted.

Keep it dark!

Maintain a Dark Environment: Select a location that provides good cover of darkness at night. Well lit areas do not provide favorable surroundings for the outdoor movie experience. If light is necessary, we prefer stars and moon glow.

Safety is job #1

Establish a secure area for equipment set-up and operation: As with all entertainment events, the need to set up a basic perimeter or safe zone around the primary components including movie screen, projection equipment and sound system is vital. This is for the safety of your group, but especially small children and pets.

Powering-Up!

Source Electrical Power: Provide dependable and consistent power supply within 95 feet of the set-up location. If power is not available within required distances, STR can provide a generator.

Movie start time?

The summertime goes by too fast. Reserve your date as soon as possible to make certain it is available! Plan your evening, understanding that movie start time will be dependent on sunset times throughout the summer. Movie start times are typically 10 minutes after official sunset. For Michigan events, your local sunset timing can be found here. As such, June & July events start later in the evening, August & September start earlier. Good planning assures maximum entertainment value!
